We finished some frames recently. Lately we’ve switched to a new painter for a more durable clearcoat.
Of course this means we get another ride in. Nothing turns heads quicker around here than a bamboo cargo bike brimming with bamboo frames.
The end result is stunning. The new coat is not only more durable, but also has a crisper gloss. All the details of the bamboo’s color and grain really shows. Also, on the return trip, these frames, freshly coated, increased head-turning by a radical 75% (figure is anecdotal).
Here’s a few snaps of the freshest frame out of our doors. This road bike was built for versatility’s sake. The 105 group set features a long cage derailleur to accommodate the compact crank and the 32 tooth cassette.
Naturally our customers enjoy the intimacy of the process of getting a new custom frame. Our friend Frank asked for some photos of the frame construction. It’s a great way to walk away with a keepsake from the strenuous wait between sizing and design to delivery of the final frame.
Of course we like to have our fun. We’d expect the last one to make Frank gasp, but hopefully he won’t lose sleep over it.
Go together like a horse and carriage. This bike was custom-built for our buddy Matt in Shanghai as a gift from his caring girlfriend. Let’s just say he loved his new bamboo ride so much he couldn’t help but ask his girlfriend to marry him.
Custom integrated rack feature on our standard Bamboo 8 geometry frame.
Romantic lighting makes for fine bicycle photography.
Congratulations to Matt and his fiancé! Here’s to many smooth miles on the tandem bicycle tour that is marital bliss.
