This bike looks like it’d be best suited for short trips around town. Maybe you could toss some light groceries in the basket and breezily wheel the short trips between errands. It’s best not to judge a book by it’s cover, though. With the svelte style of a European city bike, this mixte has all the accoutrements of a long distance bike.
I finally got around to building up a bike that suits my recent riding style. I haven’t been inspired to do long grinds on the road bike, nor have I wanted to throw myself into the thrum of city traffic. Instead I’ve taken to searching for those backroads, broken and muddy, to find a little solace on the bike.
You may have caught yourself oogling at the pictures of the tall bike and wondering why exactly it was so striking.
The answer is straightforward: we tried a new trick with the finishing. Beyond just prepping the surface for a clear coat, we stripped the bamboo of it’s cuticle exposing the grain beneath.
This not only highlights the grain of the bamboo but makes the natural tones of the bamboo really pop when given a clear coat. So we decided to play nice and share a few more photos of its finish!
The most recent contraption to make the ranks is a custom tall bike. Designed around elevating the rider to put their riding height above the roof of your ordinary sedan, it definitely makes for quite the eye-catcher.
